Russian drink launched in Big Apple

MOSCOW, June 25 (Xinhua) — Coca-Cola launched an imported traditional Russian beverage in the United States on the day of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit, RIA Novosti news agency reported Friday.

The company began sales of kvas, a fermented beverage made from rye bread, exclusively at Whole Foods Market stores throughout New York City.

The statement on Coca-Cola’s official website says Kruzhka & Bochka (Mug and Barrel) Kvas, launched in Russia in 2008, is based on a traditional Russian recipe.

“We are pleased to introduce authentic Russian kvas to New York in recognition of President Medvedev’s historic visit,” the agency cited Deryck Van Rensberg, CEO of Venturing and Emerging Brands, Coca-Cola North America, as saying

Time to extend statutory management to SCF

Time to extend statutory management to SCF

Those television journalists crack Chalkie up.

“Allan Hubbard, the South Island’s richest man”, worth about $550 million, they say, mindlessly regurgitating last year’s National Business Review rich list.

Hubbard is not worth $550m and could conceivably end up bankrupt if personal guarantees and the like are greater than his wealth outside of South Canterbury Finance (SCF).

Before the Timaru Hubbard fan club starts scribbling in protest, Chalkie is not making these comments to denigrate the man. Rather, it is to examine where SCF sits.

The cornerstone of the former wealth assessment for Hubbard was Southbury Group, which was the holding company for SCF, Helicopters (NZ), Scales Corporation and an investment in Dairy Holdings.

A quick capitalisation of SCF’s historic profits from 2006-2008 of about $40m-$50m pre-tax probably gave the NBR scribes a $300m base for Mr Hubbard’s wealth, to which they added roughly $200m for the Helicopters, Scales and Dairy Holding investments. Ownership of dairy farms added more and the imponderable negative was debt, which could only ever be guessed at.

Chalkie reckons that Southbury is now worthless, and given that SCF has a $114m loan to the parent, this is not trivial. In an iterative process, the less SCF is worth, the less assets Southbury has to back the loan, the more the loan has to be written down, the less SCF is worth and so on.

What does the Southbury balance sheet look like? It is a private company, but by tracking through SCF announcements one can come to some powerful conclusions.

The Dairy Holdings stake, Helicopters, and Scales have been unceremoniously shoved into SCF to shore up that balance sheet, so it’s an obvious hypothesis that SCF is Southbury’s only major asset.

The April debenture prospectus, raising money for day- to-day liquidity to repay debentures that are maturing, has more information. When Helicopters and Scales were injected into SCF a $16m loan was advanced to Southbury

Take some inspiration this summer

Take some inspiration this summer

PART of summer travel is experiencing different cultures, trying new foods and of course, enjoying the glorious sunshine and warm temperatures.

As an interior designer, my favourite thing about travelling is that I get to gather inspiration from all the wonderful architecture and decor that differs so greatly from what we’re used to.

This summer, why not take inspiration from lands afar, bringing that feel-good, summer feeling into your own home for you to enjoy all year round.

Let’s start with Greece, renowned for its profound history and natural beauty.

It’s a popular holiday destination for endless reasons; great food, sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

But it’s the mesmerising architecture and strong sense of style that keeps drawing me back to the Greek islands — Santorini in particular.

It’s the enchanting array of buildings in all shapes, sizes and colours that make the Greek islands so intriguing and this disregard for uniformity can be used to create a peaceful, tranquil and utterly beautiful environment within the home, no matter where its location.

For an authentic look and feel, the focus should be on pure lines, natural materials and a mix of neutral colour schemes accentuated by bold blues throughout.

Stick to these rules to ensure the relaxed, laid back Mediterranean experience we all enjoy on holiday in the comfort of your own home.

In Wales, we can’t always rely on deep blue skies, but the classic Santorini style can look fabulous in almost any room within the home, be it bedroom, bathroom or lounge.

Unfortunately, the sunlight in Greece differs to that in the UK, so bright white walls can appear grey (not a good look!) The solution therefore is to choose a soft cream or distressed white shade. Then simply accessories with Greek-inspired pieces such as rugs, pots and tableware, all in blue and white.

To experience the charm of the Med as soon as you set foot in the door, invest in an informal blue and white patterned rug to adorn the hallway. And, when it comes to choosing furniture, off-whites will give you a fresh clean look, distressed pine a homely edge and dark woods such as mahogany a more distinctive yet authentic contrast.

DECORATIVE Cimkent rug would look hallway www.

In the bathroom, natural stone works best. Opt for organic shapes and neutral tones, then team with textured pebble flooring and simple, modern brassware to complete the look.

If you’re really excited by this trend and want to take it a step further, you could always invest in wooden shutters, finished in a striking sky-blue. The key is to look for pieces that reflect the laid back tempo and This Blue from OKA great in the okadirect.com simplicity of island life; things that will soothe the soul and relax the senses when times are stressful

It is also

It is also believed to help heart patients by increasing their exercise capacity, reducing heart spasms and thus increasing heart function. Some studies have also indicated its usefulness in treating neuromuscular disorders, though tests are still being conducted. Creatine is categorized as a food supplement by the FDA.

Creatine is said to be the ?most legitimate sports supplement? today. Creatine is essentially used by sportspersons who participate in heavy sports like weightlifting, wrestling and sprinting. This is because these sports require sudden bursts of energy for a short period of time. Creatine also helps the athlete to recover sooner even after using up all the energy. Taking too much Creatine is also not very harmful as the body can absorb only a certain quantity and the rest is expelled from the body through the kidneys.

Creatine is also found to be useful for people suffering from neuromuscular disorders like ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease), a degenerative neural disease, when tested in mice. It was found to be twice as effective in extending the life of mice as compared to the existing prescription drug ? riluzole. This may be due to the increase in the availability of energy to damaged nerve cells.

Man steals van

with baby inside

ATLANTA – Atlanta police say a thief stole a minivan with a newborn baby inside, then ditched the child on the to-go counter of a nearby chicken-wing restaurant.

They say the baby boy slept through the incident and was soon reunited with his mother.

James Ku told police a man entered his family’s Wings R Us restaurant around noon Tuesday and placed an infant in a car seat on the counter. The man said he found the child. Before fleeing, he told Ku to call 911.

Police brought the mother by less than two minutes after Ku called 911. She said she had left the baby in the minivan while she dropped another child at daycare, then returned to find the van gone. Ku said she wept when her baby was returned safely.

Police are still seeking the victim’s 2006 blue Chevrolet Uplander.

I understood it

I understood it right away and I implemented it right away too. Switch on computer, call up blank word document and just start writing.

Often, I would start with the words, “What shall I write about today?” and sometimes it would go on like this, “I really don’t know, everything seems a bit far away and nebulous, jeez I wish I was somewhere else, somewhere fresh and breezy, with a wide blue sky …”

As you can imagine, from there you can and most importantly, you DO automatically get into all sorts of places, all sorts of states and the flow really does come, it just happens and Ms Plath was absolutely right, it really does open the channels.

Now as to application of this.

They are veritably endless.

What channels are the most important to you, bring you the most rewards, carry the most important things like poetry was to Sylvia Plath and story telling to Silvia Hartmann in their respective times?

Creative music? Painting?

Loving perhaps?

Now that’s an interesting idea, isn’t it.

You could have your breakfast and immediately afterwards and as a part of a routine just like brushing teeth, find something to love in your environment – a toy or nic-nac, a shadow, a curtain, a house plant, a table top – like in the original usage of the pattern, it is NOT about the object or the outcome but simply to open the channels for the FLOW.

It might be more urgent to you to *be MORE loved* instead and you might want to practise receiving with the brushing of your teeth instead – receiving energy from the same toy or nic-nac, from a shadow, curtain or a house plant, anything in your environment at all, and letting it into your heart.

And as the Sylvia Plath exercise was NOT about making a poem to be sold later, this is not about making you be healed but only about opening the channels and practicing the FLOW – because when it flows, it flows and you get all these other benefits naturally and as a side effect, of course.

This is a truly superb pattern to be applied to all and everything which may be important to you at any particular time; what makes it so superb is the insistance on the FLOW as opposed to the PRODUCT.

Bringing in the PRODUCT disturbs the flow – of course! – and that is a fantastic reminder that there are certain things that, if done for their own purpose and aim, are the true building blocks and pre-requisites for the products which may follow – be they paintings, or stories, or poems, or our abilities to give and receive this and that.

These products are a result of a well established Even Flow and that is something people tend to forget in their hurry towards and focus on the “end result” – when the products are in truth, nothing more than the wake left behind a ship which indeed, contains all the valuables.

You name it, fear has a starring

You name it, fear has a starring role, with procrastination and laziness as costars.

But there’s help at hand!

I read a book 12 years ago,

Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway

by Dr. Susan Jeffers, that changed my life. It has been changing my clients’ lives ever since.

The crucial thing I learned from this book is that everything depends upon your attitude, your perception of the situation. Not what happens. Not what people say or do. But how you view it.

So, you’ve heard that before, too, right? Has it changed the way you tell yourself how to view what happens? I doubt it.

Here’s the powerful stuff (and stuff I bet you’ve heard before, too). Nobody changes his or her attitude without working at it. I’m here to tell you that you need to work that attitude muscle, just like you do your biceps at the gym. Otherwise, forget it.

You don’t wake up one morning, optimistic, ready to take on the world and feeling like Pollyanna. Especially if you’re out of work, hate your job or are just plain lazy.

So, how do you change your attitude?

Years of therapy.

Having a picture and a short blurb

Having a picture and a short blurb describing the product can be a lot more effective then simply writing a descriptive paragraph highlighting the item. You can set up a frequently asked questions section to your blog and by leaving out a lot of the terms that public relations people use in their writing for large corporations you will be making your business a lot more personable which is what a lot of people prefer these days. You could add new questions you your site as you receive them if you believe they would be of help to your customers.

I personally have been making regular contributions to my blog over the last number of weeks.

The Importance Of Credit Repair

The Importance Of Credit Repair by Anne Lopez
in Advertising / Online Advertising (submitted 2009-08-16)

They said that credit is a way of life in America. Yes it is absolutely true. Without good credit, you have to secure your seat in the second-class section of our economy. However, if your credit is in shambles, you may not be willing to wait for seven years while your credit report repairs itself. Many authorities will tell you there is nothing you can do to repair your credit. Magazines, newspapers and TV news journals all seem to be unanimous in discouraging you from making any effort to repair your credit before the seven year limit. How do these journalists explain Lexington Law Firm? They have repaired over one hundred thousand disproving items from individual consumer credit reports in the last two years. What about the thousands of Americans who have repaired their own credit? Why has the media frequently disclaimed the possibility of repairing credit when concrete evidence points to the contrary? Who stands to gain from such a broad campaign of misinformation?

The three giant credit reporting agencies or credit bureaus namely Equifax, TransUnion and Experian have sustained a integrated public relations effort to depress you from repairing the information appearing on your credit reports. The credit bureaus are precisely intent on heading you clear of “credit repair” companies that promise to help you repair your credit. The bureaus claim that these companies “cannot have precise information removed from your credit report.”
If you are like 70% of Americans that have less than perfect credit, you’re sure to be interested in the truth about credit repair.

Credit reporting and scoring is one key component of modern consumer financing, nevertheless, several consumers have an incomplete or flawed understanding of how these processes work. Given the impact a person’s credit score can have on their purchasing power, insurability, and employment, Lexington Law, the nation’s leading provider of consumer credit correction services, has launched a new Credit Education resource for
American consumers providing valuable information people can use to learn more about how the consumer credit system works and how they can help to make the most of their credit rating.

To this end, Lexington Law has provided expertly crafted videos and articles, the 151 page Credit Revolution book, excerpts from media interviews with Lexington Law attorneys, and more.

As consumers take time to learn more about their credit, several are finding their credit rating is not an accurate representation of their creditworthiness. Additional research reveals their rights to address this issue either on their own or with the help of a legitimate credit correction firm like Lexington Law
